JUNIOR PROGRAMMER

Full Time (Hybrid)

Unexpected Developments Ltd are currently looking for programmers to join our talented team in Nottingham. The ideal candidate would have a background in the games industry or a demonstrable interest and familiarity of games and their development techniques. As a small but focused team you will have a big input into the studio where we place a strong emphasis on personal development, with a dedicated development budget for every team member.

Required Skills:

• 2+ years of c# or c++ programming experience in the games industry with at least one published title or equivalent experience outside of games
• Ability to write clear and maintainable code and understand and build upon code written by others
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all disciplines
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as required
• A desire to constantly improve and develop new skills
• Ability to realistically break down and schedule tasks plus identify and raise risks
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise different tasks to achieve the project goals
• Perform well under deadline pressure in a fast-paced environment

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with Unreal
• Experience developing UI with UMG/Slate
• Experience with Perforce
• Good understanding of agile development
• Project tracking software experience e.g. Hansoft, Jira
• Multi-platform development experience
• Console development experience
